Guide to Creating and bundling services

Introduction

Meeko uses services and bundles to organize the services that clinics provide so that individuals seeking care can easily understand what is being offered across the Meeko Directory to make a more informed decision.

You can think of services and bundles as a shared language between clients/patients and clinics.

Services

Services are the basic building blocks for communicating what types of care your clinic provides. In healthcare language you can think of them as a procedure code (the dreaded CPT) or an appointment type.

Some examples of services:

  • 60min Medical Evaluation

  • 45min IV Ketamine Infusion

  • 60min Integration Therapy

  • 120min IV Ketamine Assisted Therapy

When creating a service in Meeko you can select the following:

Service Category

Drug*

Administration Method*

Therapy**

Consultation

Ketamine

Intravenous (IV)

Preparation

Assessment

Spravato

Intramuscular (IM)

Experiential

Substance Administration*

Intranasal

Integration

Therapy**

Sublingual

Oral

*When the service category is substance administration you can select the drug that is being administered and the administration method.

**When the service category is therapy you can select the type of therapy being offered.

For all services you are able to specify a place of a service (In person or virtual) and a duration (in minutes).

Services can be managed from the services page in the clinic app.

The services will display on clinic map directory.

Bundles

Bundles are a collection of one or more services. By bundling services, you can provide a comprehensive and synergistic treatment experience, aligning with industry best practices and enhancing the likelihood of positive outcomes.

An example of a Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) bundle:

  • (2) 45min Virtual Preparation Therapy Sessions

  • (6) 90min In-person IV Ketamine + Experiential Sessions

  • (6) 60min Virtual Integration Therapy Sessions

Bundles can be managed on the bundles tab on the services page in the clinic app.

Bundles will display on the clinic details page.

Services and bundles FAQs

Can I combine one or more service categories into a single service?

Yes, often ketamine administration is given in combination with therapy when that is the case we recommend selecting both substance administration and therapy as the service category.

What if I want an individual service to show up on the clinic details page?

Create a bundle with that service with a quantity of 1.

What if my bundles and services aren't showing up my Clinic Directory page?

Bundles and services need to be added to each location. Go to the locations tab on the clinic page and edit the location to include the desired services and bundles.

What are the definitions of service categories?

Consultation: An initial meeting between the client and therapist/clinician to discuss the client's history, goals, and suitability for ketamine-assisted therapy. This allows the clinician to evaluate if the client is an appropriate candidate and for the client to understand the process. This is typically 15-20min long and free.

Assessment: A comprehensive evaluation by the clinician of the client's mental health condition, medical history, current medications, and other relevant factors. This thorough assessment helps determine if ketamine-assisted therapy is advisable and identify any potential risks or contraindications.

Substance Administration: The controlled administration of ketamine, typically through an intravenous infusion or intramuscular injection, under medical supervision. Proper dosing and monitoring are critical for safety and to induce the desired psychedelic state to enhance the therapy.

Therapy: The psychotherapeutic component, which can take different forms but generally involves processing the ketamine experience through talking, exploring insights, and working on therapeutic goals with the guidance of a trained psychotherapist. This integration of the psychedelic experience is considered key to the therapeutic benefit.

What are the definitions of administration methods?

Intravenous (IV): Injection of a drug directly into a vein, allowing it to be rapidly distributed throughout the body via the bloodstream. This route provides the fastest onset of action, highest bioavailability, and most precise dosing control.

Intramuscular (IM): Injection of a drug deep into a muscle, where it is absorbed from the muscle fibers into the bloodstream over a period of time. This route allows for slower absorption than IV.

Intranasal: Administration of a drug as a spray or solution into the nasal cavity, where it is absorbed through the nasal mucous membranes into the systemic circulation.

Sublingual: Placement of a drug under the tongue to dissolve and absorb directly into the venous drainage.

Oral: Administration of a drug by ingesting it into the gastrointestinal tract, usually as a tablet, capsule or liquid.

What are the definitions of therapy types?

Preparation: These are therapy sessions before the actual drug administration where the therapist educates the client on what to expect, discusses intentions and goals for the session, and helps the client develop coping strategies and grounding techniques to use during the experience.

Experiential: These are the sessions where the client takes the medication and experiences the dissociative or psychoactive effects. The therapist typically guides them through the inward journey.

Integration: These are therapy sessions after the experience where the client processes and integrates their insights and experiences from the administrations session(s) with the therapist. The therapist helps the client make sense of their experience and apply it to their life in a meaningful way.
